Ohio State offers Georgia RB

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. — It has been a good month of December for 2020 running back Deondre Jackson. Auburn came through with an offer and Ohio State extended one as well.

The sophomore out of Stephenson has connections to Auburn with a teammate committed there, but the Buckeye offer caught him off guard.

"It was a big surprise to me when Ohio State offered," said Jackson. "I had never heard from them or had any contact with them, so when I found out, I was very surprised.

"I was shocked. As soon as I got the offer I thought all the great running backs they have had there and their history. It is a great offer."

Growing up, Jackson liked Alabama and Ohio State, so he has kept up with the Buckeyes over the years. A running back that played in the Horseshoe is one Jackson watched closely and he is ready to see what it is like in Columbus.

"This is a big offer for me. I am blessed to have this one. I want to visit as soon as I can check out their facilities and learn more about their program.

"I have always watched them and I like their style of play and I like how they produce running backs. Ezekiel Elliot is one of my favorite players, so it is cool to be offered by the school that he played for."

"They are definitely one of my favorites and high on my list."

Jackson is considered to be one of the top 2020 prospects in the state of Georgia.
