Delray Beach, Fla. — The recruiting world is filled with semantics. And four-star running back Kenny McIntosh’s situation is no different. It’s why his response to simple question is so nuanced.

Asked if any school leads his recruitment, McIntosh provides a sort of quasi-answer. He makes certain to qualify his response. The exchange ends up as murky as the recruiting trail itself.

“Ohio State a little bit, I guess,” McIntosh said. “But they aren’t my leader. Not right now.”

What can be gleaned is that the Buckeyes are in great early position with the 2019 tailback. McIntosh has already visited the campus and what he saw on said trip must have stuck with him.

“I loved it,” McIntosh said of his visit to Columbus. “The facility was amazing. I just love the coach. I love the coach — I love coach Urban Meyer.”

Of course there are other schools involved. McIntosh’s offer list is lengthy for a prospect of his young age. It’s why you have to ask him which programs are in most frequent contact. Even then, he struggles to provide a bitesized snapshot of his recruitment, The contenders here, at least for now, are wide-ranging.

“Oklahoma, Miami, Florida State, Clemson, Stanford … I could keep going on with the list,” McIntosh said. “A lot of schools are talking to me a lot.”

McIntosh has siblings at both Miami and Notre Dame and says each is trying to pull him toward their school. He’s familiar with this schools, however. It’s why neither comes up when he discusses the places he’d most like to visit next

“I’m trying to go to Oregon and visit,” McIntosh said. “Oklahoma, too. I definitely want to visit Oklahoma.”

A junior at Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) University School, McIntosh is rated as the No. 3 running back and the no. 49 overall prospect in the class of 2019. He has set no timetable for a verbal commitment.
