Ohio State has shown interest in Chris Olave for a while but even still the three-star receiver was shocked when the Buckeyes offered.

After the San Marcos (Calif.) Mission Hills standout visited Ohio State this past weekend for its blowout win over Michigan State, the Buckeyes are a top contender in his recruitment.

So what stood out so much?

“Everything stood out,” Olave said.

“Everything people told me about Ohio State was true. If I had to pick one thing that stood out the most it would be the atmosphere at the game, never seen so many people at one game in my life, absolutely crazy.”

The Buckeyes definitely left a good impression on Olave, who has seen his recruitment take off in recent weeks with offers from USC, Michigan, Ohio State and Illinois since the beginning of October.

Because things have really started to get much busier, the three-star prospect is planning some other visits before making a decision.

As for where the San Marcos Mission Hills recruit sees Ohio State, he made it pretty clear.

“Definitely toward the top,” Olave said.

Playoffs are on tap for Olave and his high school team so no more visits are planned until after the season. Then he will take a Utah trip and is also considering visits to Michigan and USC before making a commitment.
