DAVIE, Fla. -- The school that have Xavier Williams’ attention are largely unchanged. Clemson and Georgia are in involved. Florida and Florida State are both still near the top. There is, however, one new face at the party.

“Ohio State offered, so they’re right up there now,” Williams said. “They are at the top. That’s the only thing that changed.”

A class-of-2018 prospect. Williams names no favorites. And, at this early juncture, Ohio State has fallen in lien with the other schools at the top of his list. Still, the Buckeyes have some semblance of pull with the four-star wide receiver.

“They’re telling me that I could be the guy there,” Williams said. “They already have a lot of South Florida guys that are goanna come in and play this year, so I like that.”

As for a commitment timetable, the junior has a rough one in place. It may or may not change down the road, but Williams offers a guess at when he could be ready to make a college decision.

“It will probably be, like, the spring before my senior year I think.”

IN HIS WORDS: “I love the Ohio State offense,” Williams said. “I need to get in there and see how the Business program is, but I like what I know,”

RIVALS REACTION: Projecting Williams’ recruitment at such an early juncture is difficult and becoming harder with each new offer. Clemson, Florida and Georgia have been the most stalwart schools near the top of his list, but Florida State and Ohio State seem to be just as likely to land his commitment at this point. Williams’ recruitment should clear up this fall.
