Ohio Star Looking All Over

One of the top defensive ends in the country this recruiting season is Massillon (Ohio) Washington star Shawn Crable. And while it will be tough to pull the 6-foot-6, 230-pounder out of the Midwest, a lot of teams are trying.
“Things are getting more wide open each day it seems,” said Crable. “I just visited Maryland last weekend and I really liked it there. It opened my eyes quite a bit because around here everyone is always talking about Big 10. I went to Maryland and thought it was just a small place but when I got there I realized that they have everything that Ohio State and Michigan have. I was impressed and it made me think that there are some other places I need to see.”

Among the other schools Crable is considering are Michigan, Ohio State, Miami, Tennessee, Syracuse, Florida and South Carolina. The Wolverines and Buckeyes might have the edge, but it’s not a big one.
“They’re closer to home so they come to mind more often when people ask me about leaders and all,” he said. “But I’m going to need some official visits before I decide anything. I’m staying wide open.”
As a junior, Crable had 12 sacks and 73 tackles.
