Ohio sleeper emerges

Youngstown (Ohio) Cardinal Mooney's Kyle McCarthy was on some recruiter's radar screens prior to his senior season, but with his outstanding play in leading his team to the playoffs, McCarthy has really emerged.
The 6-foot-0, 173 pound McCarthy has led Cardinal Mooney to a 9-2 record and a birth this weekend in the state regional finals.

McCarthy has over 1000 yards rushing, over 500 passing, and 30 tackles and four interceptions on the other side of the ball.
"I'm getting recruited for offense and defense," McCarthy said. "But mostly defense.
"I've received offers from Kent State, Arizona, and Navy. I'm interested in those schools. And Northwestern, Notre Dame, Penn State, and Wisconsin. And Stanford's a big one too. All of them are in contact.
"I'm going to wait till the end of the season and visit some places and see who I like from there.
"I'll probably visit Arizona, Navy, and Northwestern. And Notre Dame if they're interested enough. It depends who I get offers from."
