Ohio RB begins Wisconsin visit

Warren (Ohio) Howland running back Lance Smith is beginning a visit to Wisconsin today and expects to select his college shortly after he returns home.
"My plane leaves tomorrow morning at 6:00," Smith said on Tuesday. "Then I get back on Friday.

"I went to Pitt Monday. It went pretty good. I liked it. It's a nice environment. They have a strong coaching staff. The NFL is there. I went up there to check it out.
"But it's still Wisconsin, Iowa, and Michigan. Wisconsin and Iowa have offered me.
"After I get back from Wisconsin I'm going to wait a few days, then make a decision. I want to decide by Aug. 10."
The 5-foot-10 and 190 pound Smith rushed for 1,700 yards and 18 touchdowns during his junior season, averaging seven yards per carry. Smith is the No. 35 prospect in the state of Ohio in the Rivals.com player rankings.
