Ohio QB starting to think about visits

Freemont (Ohio) Ross quarterback Aaron Opelt is one of those Buckeye State sleepers that always seem to emerge with a strong senior season. The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder earned all-area honors as a junior and backed it up with a solid senior campaign that has allowed him to rack up quite a few solid scholarship offers.
"We had a tough year," Opelt, who is 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, said. "We kind of started off slow and got better toward the end. One of my goals was to get into the playoffs with an 8-2 or 9-1 record, but we didn't get it done.

"But I was pleased with how we played at the end of the season. We went out on a high note."
Opelt threw for more than 2,000 yards and 15 touchdowns as a senior. He also rushed for an additional 500 yards, showing that he's a true dual-threat quarterback.
"I like to drop back and throw it," Opelt said. "But I can get out of the pocket and make things happen that way. I'm a pretty complete guy that can hurt you both ways."
Opelt has scholarship offers from Cincinnati, Ball State, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Kent and Toledo. While he's not lined up any official visits at this point, he does have some schools in mind for them.
"Miami, Toledo and Cincinnati are for sure going to get trips," Opelt said. "I'll try to get to Bowling Green, too. I don't have any favorites at this point. I'm going to really let the visits determine where I'll end up at.
