Ohio QB pulls trigger

Just hours after saying he was down to two schools, one of the top quarterbacks left on the board has made up his mind.
"Patrick has committed to Akron," Tim Nicely, the father of three-star quarterback Patrick Nicely of Willoughby (Ohio) South.

Nicely, ranked as the nation's No. 20 quarterback, was down to Ohio and Akron and he was previously committed to Bowling Green. But in the end, it was Akron's commitment to success that won him over.
"I really like coach J.D. Brookhart and how he's a hard-nosed guy," Nicely said. "They've just put $500 million into their campus and everything. Obviously they have a new stadium and the student union is beautiful. There are some other little things I like about them.
"At Akron there's a chance to put up awesome numbers in their offense and help them get to the next level."
As a senior, Nicely threw for 22 touchdowns and only four interceptions.
