Ohio QB has team at 8-0 on season
One of Ohio’s top dual-threat quarterbacks has his team off to a perfect 8-0 record. Now Mentor, Ohio, standout Thom Abbott is hoping that he can turn that perfect record into a state championship and a scholarship offer.
“We’re playing really good football,” said Abbott, who is 6-foot-2, 182 pounds and ranked as a two-star quarterback. “We have a running back this season, so that means I don’t to throw the ball as much as I did last season. I have 10 touchdown passes, but I’m not really sure of the rest of my stats.”

Mentor is ranked No. 3 in the state of Ohio.
Abbott said his top team in the recruiting process is Duke. The Blue Devils call regularly along with Bowling Green, Ohio and Buffalo.
“I like Duke a lot,” he said.
“The coaches are great and they have amazing academics.”
