Ohio QB adds Big 10 offer

West Milton (Ohio) Milton Union dual-threat quarterback Mitchell Evans is one of the best kept secrets in the state.
Ranked as the No. 43 player in Ohio by Rivals.com, the 6-foot-3, 190-pounder has picked up his first Big 10 offer to go along with the others from Kent, Miami and Ohio.

"After I ran my 40 time at Indiana of 4.49, that's when they sent me the offer," Evans said. "I still think I can run faster though. Indiana is now recruiting me the hardest. But I think it's a tossup between Indiana, Miami of Ohio and Bowling Green right now."
He spent time this summer at Purdue, Indiana, Miami, Bowling Green, West Virginia and Notre Dame, and all of the teams that have offered him like him at quarterback. Purdue, which hasn't offered, is the lone team that thinks of him as a safety prospect.
While he does have some solid offers on his list, he's not in a rush to make a decision.
"No, I don't want to commit now," he said. "I just want to take them all in and enjoy the process."
Evans said the perfect school will have a good atmosphere. He also wants to be able to fit in with the coaches and the team. But with the decision still a ways out, he's starting to get excited about his senior season.
"We've looked good in practices," he said. "We have a lot of big goals and expectations this year."
