Ohio picks up commit, looking for another

Marietta, Ga., has been a hot spot for college coaches this fall as the Blue Devils have five prospects signing Division I letters of intent. The most recent name to emerge on the scene from Marietta is wide receiver Thad Turner.
"Thad committed to Ohio a couple of weeks ago on his official visit," Marietta coach Friday Richards said. "Ohio said they were making a big to recruit the state of Georgia because they felt it was right up there with the big three (states: California, Texas and Florida) in terms of producing talent."

Turner is not the only prospect from Marietta that the Bobcats hope to sign.
"Our quarterback Brandon Jones recently got an offer from them and he is on a plane as we speak taking an official visit up there," Richards said. "He has not made any kind of decision yet, I know it's pretty much down to Ohio and UConn and he'll probably be ready to make a decision here sometime in the next few days."
Marietta also has one other prospect that has received a scholarship offer and chose his destination.
"One of our offensive lineman Michael Adams really came on strong his senior year and Howard came in and offered him a scholarship and he is committed to them."
