Ohio kicker heading to MAC

Scholarship offers for kickers are tough to come by, but Ball State made it clear they wanted to pick up a pledge from a talented kicker. Ball State got its wish when it picked up one of the best in Ohio.
Massillon (Ohio) Washington kicker Steve Schott made his commitment to Ball State recently. He was also recruited by Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, Penn State, Purdue, Virginia and Kent.

"I went to camp there twice, and I really enjoyed it," Schott, who is 6-foot and 148 pounds, said.
"I liked how they treated me as an athlete and a human being. I was recruited by coach Stan Parrish."
Schott said the Ball State coaches were excited with the news.
"They were very excited because they were telling me how the kicking situation right now wasn't very good and were excited that I chose so early," he said.
"I talked to coach Hoke, and he congratulated me and told me how excited he is about what I have to offer."
