Ohio DB stays in state with pledge

Talk about breaking news. Canton (Ohio) McKinley safety Brad Jones was leaning toward both Toledo and Bowling Green but he reversed his course earlier tonight with a big commitment to an in-state school.
“I committed to Cincinnati about an hour ago,” Jones, who is 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, said.

“I’ve just been talking to some people, and I heard the campus is really nice. I think the biggest thing is that I wanted to play for coach (Mark) Dantonio. I talked for a long time with him tonight, and he was really excited about my commitment.”
Cincinnati picks up the commitment from Jones, who is playing corner and receiver this season, but said he would like to project as a safety in college.
“I’m still playing corner, and I’ve only had about seven passes thrown my way,” he said. “I did break up almost all of them, and I tipped another and it got intercepted.”
Jones also had offers from Bowling Green, Akron and Toledo. He was also getting interest from Michigan State, Ohio State and Pittsburgh.
