Ohio DB Portis has favorite

Painesville (Ohio) Harvey defensive back Marlon Portis currently has a short list of schools he is thinking about. Portis says one is clearly his top choice.
"I'm getting recruited by Pitt, Akron, Youngstown State, and some others," Portis said. "I've talked to a Youngstown State coach. A coach called (Tuesday) night. I talked to Pitt and Akron too.

"Those are the three schools I like. Pitt and Akron have been to school."
Portis' school had been Cleveland Glenville until January. Portis played cornerback for the Tarblooders his junior season. Then he and his brother David Garrett moved to Painesville and the two transferred to Harvey.
The 5-foot-9 and 170-pound Portis made 25 tackles for Glenville and played a little running back.
Portis said one of the three schools he is interested in is definitely his top choice.
"I'm interested in Youngstown State a lot," he said. "I like Pitt and Akron, but Youngstown State is my favorite. They recruit athletes my size. And they lose some defensive backs. It could be a good opportunity for me."
