Ohio ATH having big season

Nelsonville (Ohio) Nelsonville-York two-star athlete Jay Edwards has done everything he can to help his team win ball games – everything but drive the buss home after the game.
The 6-foot, 198-pound quarterback/defensive back has averaged 160 yards a game in rushing, helping Nelsonville-York to a 2-1 record.

"We lost to a big school this past week out of Lancaster," Edwards said. "The first game, I had nine carries for 160 yards and didn't have to do too much. The second game, I had 10 carries for 160 yards. Then we got into a tight game this week, and I had 18 carries for 160 yards.
"This past week we threw it more. I was nine of 11 in passing."
Edwards entered September with two offers from Ohio U and Youngstown State. He's also getting more attention.
"Akron's calling now," Edwards said. "The recruiting coordinator called and they've been sending me stuff now. I've also talked to Northwestern, West Virginia and Cincinnati, too. Ohio has been all over me. Ohio's pumped up after that big win this weekend. That's something that excites me.
"I haven't verbally committed anywhere, but they're looking really good. The MAC represented well this weekend. And I know if I went there to one of those schools, I'd have an opportunity to play."
