OG Phillips updates his recruitment
Virginia Beach (Va.) Bayside offensive guard Mike Phillips claims two scholarships. The 6-foot-1, 274-pounder continues to hear from other colleges as the season is quickly approaching.
"I'm just working hard trying to do big things this year," he said. "I'm just trying to maintain our ranking and not get outworked by any other team."

On the recruiting front, Phillips holds a pair of offers from Hampton and Navy.
"I've still got the same offers and nobody new has offered yet," he said. "I haven't really set up visits, but there is a small chance I may take an unofficial to Michigan State. They sent me an email and I would like to see what it's like."
Outside of that, who else is in touch?
"I'm hearing from Virginia and James Madison," he said. "JMU says they are going to see how I perform during my senior season.
"Virginia's coach, Coach Moore talks to me a lot."
