OG Johnson adds another Big Ten offer

Chicago (Ill.) Morgan Park junior offensive line prospect Ramone Johnson (6-foot-5, 307 pounds) has added a scholarship offer from Michigan State University.
"The coaches from Michigan State have offered me a scholarship," Johnson said. "They saw me at the Nike Camp at Michigan and said that they were really impressed with how I performed. I also got the paperwork from Oregon on their offer in the mail today."

Johnson talked about his latest offer from the Spartans.
"I've never been to East Lansing before, but I'm going to head out this summer and see what the school and the campus is all about. Michigan State is a really good school and a good program. They have Roland Martin from Harper out there and I played against big Roland in the Public League."
Johnson has two slight leaders at this point.
"I would say that Illinois and Tennessee are my two early leaders at this point, but they are just slight leaders and I'm no way close to making my college choice. I really haven't sat down and really started to weight one school against the others just yet. I like the coaches at Illinois and I'm cool with everyone in Champaign, and the coaches at Tennessee plus the winning program that they have is attractive to me."
One thing that has surprised Johnson is the small amount of phone calls he's received during the May evaluation period.
"Yeah, I'm sort of surprised that I haven't gotten more phone calls because that's all you hear about during the May recruiting period. I'm not complaining at all because I've gotten a ton of offers and stuff, plus we've had a ton more coaches making in school visits. I've gotten calls from Illinois, Purdue, Michigan and Toledo so far."
As far as his summer plans are concerned, look for the unofficial Johnson Summer Tour coming to a local campus near you.
"I'm definitely going to get out this summer and check out several schools in person. I want to see some of these campuses and facilities in person. I'm going to camp at Iowa on June 4th and I think I'll make unofficial visits the rest of the summer."
