Official visit boosts Hogs

A trip to Arkansas this weekend helped boost the Razorbacks’ standing in the eyes of three-star Newnan (Ga.) defensive tackle Earnest Mitchell Jr..
“It went good… real good,” he said. “I knew they had a pretty good program and all, but the facilities and the campus there kind of surprised me. I liked the coaches, too. They have good people there. I really enjoyed getting to meet coach Nutt and talk to him one-on-one.

“The fan support seems like another big thing there. They’re the main school there. It’s the only thing people talk about. That’s kind of cool.”
Mitchell (6-1, 280, 4.85) is also taking a close look at Clemson and Florida State. He’ll visit the Seminoles this coming weekend and the Tigers on Jan. 30.
“They’re my top three,” he said. “They still look the same right now, but I like Arkansas more than I did before. My visit helped raise them a little bit.”
As a senior, Mitchell recorded 146 tackles, 21 tackles for loss, 10 sacks and three pass break-ups. He’s rated the No. 27 defensive tackle in the nation by Rivals.com.
