Offers start for Jersey WR

Camden, N.J. wide receiver Tyree Watkins has pulled in his first two scholarships. The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder landed both from the Big East.
"Right now most teams are telling me they want me to come to their camps and spring practices," he said. "I do have offers from Connecticut and Rutgers.

"I love Rutgers. The atmosphere there is crazy. As for Connecticut, they just got a new facilities and the Big East is on the rise."
Rutgers and Connecticut may be the first schools to offer, but plenty of others are interested.
"Notre Dame is asking for film along with Virginia, West Virginia, Iowa, Nebraska and Maryland," he said. "I'm a big fan of LSU. I love Les Miles and the way he brings the offense and defense. I love the environment down there. It would be great to play in."
Although LSU may be a dream school, Watkins understands the importance of looking around. He discussed what he wants in a college.
"I'm just looking for an environment, a place I can feel at home," he said. "I want a winning attitude and good academics. My mom always tells me to get my degree. I think I plan on studying medicine or sports medicine."
A couple combines are coming up in the near future for Watkins as he plans to attend the Akron 7-on-7 and the Elite College Combine.
Last season the Garden State wideout posted 70 receptions for 900-yards and 13 touchdowns along with 32 tackles, five sacks, five interceptions and 11 deflections on defense.
"It was a rough year for us, we had a lot of young guys," he said. "We had a sophomore quarterback, but it was one of my best years. I had a lot of catches for touchdowns and I think I improved in everything. I created separation from double teams. I had good speed and technique. My confidence was higher too.
"I'm never satisfied. I want to work hard in the weight room every day, work on my shuttle and quick feet."
