Offers start coming for Lair

The ice has been broken for junior tight end Eric Lair as the first scholarship offer has arrived with more coming.
Lair, the 6-foot-3, 200-pounder from Houston Lamar, grabbed an offer this week from Baylor. The mail has been rolling in and he recently found out another Big 12 scholarship offer has been extended and should arrive any day.

"I got the first one from Baylor and that came yesterday," Lair said. "I talked to Oklahoma State yesterday and they said they were sending me an offer too. I've also talked with Texas Tech and they seem really interested."
His top five includes Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Florida, State, Stanford and Fresno State. One Big 12 team sits atop Lair's leader list.
"I have Texas Tech first," Lair said. "They have a great offense and it's great how they use their receivers with throwing the ball so much. It's a lot of exposures for receivers who play at Tech."
Lair says his interest in West Coast schools has a lot to do with his interest in California and the environment.
Junior days are the next item of important for Lair. He'll be attending the Rivals.com Junior Day on Feb. 11 at Rice University and will follow that up with Texas Tech's junior day on Feb. 17.
