Offers rolling in for Epps

Dedrick Epps out of Richmond (Va.) Huguenot has seen offers rolling in from some of the top programs across the country.
According to Huguenot head coach Richard McFee, Epps has received offers from Stanford, Michigan, Penn State, Miami, Florida State, Florida, Tennessee and Southern Cal.

He's also getting plenty of mail from everyone in the Big Ten, ACC, Big East and most of the Pac-10. Of the mail he's gotten, Michigan and Southern Cal have peaked the defensive end's interest because they are solid schools.
In an earlier report, Epps seemed to favor Miami, Florida State and Penn State. Is he still looking at these three?
"He is still looking at those, but he wants to go through the recruiting process."
McFee mentioned that Epps does have a favorite school in mind right now, but couldn't elaborate on that for us.
This spring Epps is preparing for upcoming combines by lifting weights and working on his 40-yard dash speed. He is also working on his shuttle and broad jump.
As for combines, Epps impressed at the Tennessee Adidas Combine a few weekends ago.
"He was measured at 6-foot-4 and 229 pounds and ran a 4.61-second 40-yard dash, electronic time," said McFee. "He ran a 4.4 shuttle, had a 32-inch vertical and benched 185 pounds 21 times."
Epps is also planning to attend the Penn State Nike Combine in April.
This summer the defensive end appears to have scheduled a couple camps including Miami and Penn State in June and is also still considering one day camps at Michigan, Ohio State and a few others.
Last season Epps had 15 catches for 233 yards and three touchdowns on offense. On defense he recorded 73 tackles, 25 assists, three interceptions and four fumble recoveries. He went on to be named first team all-dominion district, second team all-region and honorable mention all-metro.
Epps should easily qualify as he currently has a 3.3 GPA and just took his SATs last weekend.
