Offers rise for Philly DE

Offers are picking up for Philadelphia (Pa.) William Penn Charter School defensive end Justin Renfrow. The 6-foot-4, 260-pounder recently added four more offers to push his total to a half dozen.
"I've gotten offers from Connecticut, Temple and just in the past two days, North Carolina and Duke," he said. "Those offers put me up to six so far.
"I think the ACC conference was what I was really aiming at to get an offer from. My parents like the ACC a lot too and pushed for me to make a trip down there. I enjoyed it.
"I thought North Carolina was beautiful. The campus is great, it's big and the facilities are too. Coach Blake and Davis are great and Coach Blake is one of the best defensive line coaches in the country.
"NC State was real nice. The facilities were great there. I definitely have a connection with the coaches since one of the grad assistants is a local guy from Neshaminy.
"At Duke, I got to see Cameron Indoor, the facilities and they have a new plan. The coaches are great guys, you can tell they know the team. They have great relationships with Coach Cutcliffe."
The only school not to offer of the three was North Carolina State. What is the situation there?
"It really was my first time talking to them," he said. "It was real informal and their camp isn't until next week. I may try to come back down."
Next up for Renfrow is a 7-on-7 at Rutgers followed by a camp next week at Virginia.
With six scholarships in already, are there any leaders for the Keystone State prospect?
"I'd say right now it's North Carolina, Duke and Connecticut," he said. "North Carolina was great. It's a great campus and Coach Davis and Blake are great coaches. It's a good opportunity as a player and possibly for the next level as well as in the business world.
"Duke is Duke, a top level education. They also prepare you for both levels and Connecticut is the same. I just have to sit with my parents and talk about it. I could make a decision early or I may wait and see."
