Offers pile up for Tajh Boyd

Offers continue to roll in for one of the top 2009 quarterbacks in the Mid-Atlantic and nation. Hampton (Va.) Phoebus quarterback Tajh Boyd added two more scholarships in the past couple days.
"I got two offers, one from Tennessee and another from Wake Forest," he said. "I talked to the coaches from Tennessee. I called them and talked to Coach Fulmer too. They told me they were very excited about me. As soon as they evaluated my film, they were very impressed and offered. I thought that was cool.

"As for Wake Forest, I've never been there. I'm going up for a junior day this weekend. I've heard the campus is really nice and I look forward to see it. I should be able to take a visit to Tennessee sometime soon too."
Plenty of other colleges are staying in touch with the 6-foot-1, 195-pounder.
"The schools that have offered are the ones mostly in contact," he said. "I am getting a lot of mail from Oregon. I'm waiting for them to offer. I'm getting mail from Alabama and Kentucky too.
"I plan to go do the camp circuit this summer so everybody gets a chance to see me. I want to prove I'm one of the top quarterbacks out there. I plan to go to the Air 7 camp and the Ohio national as well as the Elite College Combine, two Nike Camps and hopefully the Elite 11."
Previously Boyd was favoring Boston College. Is that still the case?
"Boston College is really high on my list," he said. "Tennessee is up there along with West Virginia. I like those schools because I've gotten a chance to meet my position coaches. They all seem like good guys that are honest."
Earlier this week, fellow Hampton Roads stud Logan Heastie expressed a desire to play with Boyd in college. What is Boyd's view on that?
"Hopefully we can get a chance to play together," he said. "We talk about going on visits all the time and I look forward to the recruiting process with him."
