Skinny: “Chet is arguably the best safety prospect that Carson high has ever had,” former Carson assistant coach (now with Compton College) Derrick Collins said. “Based on all the tangibles of height, weight, speed and hitting ability. Chet is the complete package. He can run, hit and cover.”
Sanders is very coachable player and intelligent. “Chet catches on very quickly,” Collins said. “He is also a very good leader.”
Many locals feel that Sanders is the second best safety prospect in southern California after Randy Estes. Like Estes he’ is very rangy player who plays an outstanding centerfield. He possesses vision and he’s a lights out hitter.
Sanders will also play some wide receiver as a senior and will return punts and kicks in 2003.
