Offers on the way for Howard

North Canton (Ohio) Hoover running back Erick Howard hasn't been going on the record much lately, opting instead to focus on academics and proving to coaches that he's going to be good to go as a freshman in college.
The 5-foot-10, 210-pound back from the Buckeye State claims offers from Wisconsin, Kansas, Tennessee, Illinois, Colorado, Cincinnati and all the MAC schools.

He spent a little while this summer trying to impress the coaches at two schools that have not offered but happen to be at the top of his list.
"I went to Michigan State's camp, and then I went to Toledo and Ohio State," Howard explained. "Toledo was okay. I loved Michigan State and Ohio State was fun.
"Coach Tressel told me if I improve my ACT, bench (press) 305 pounds and just maintain my grades then there would be an offer. Michigan State basically said they were gonna offer too. I just got a 20 on my ACT, so I might be getting offers soon. I don't know."
For now the Spartans and Buckeyes are atop Howard's list.
"Yeah, I like Michigan State and Ohio State a lot. With Michigan State, I just like the campus and the grass field. I'm not a big fan of turf and their field is really nice. Plus, everything's right there. The dorm is right across the street from the workout facilities and the school itself. It's a nice setup.
"At Ohio State the facilities are amazing. The coaches are good, quality people, and they recruit kids that want to win and aren't just about themselves. The campus is like a city."
Howard said he is done with visits until his season rolls around and it's time to start thinking about officials.
