Offers mounting for Tennessee OL

The recruiting intensity for Henning (Tenn.) lineman Ramon Foster has picked up significantly in recent weeks.
“I’m up to about 10 offers now,” said the Ripley High School star. “Tennessee, Louisville, Michigan State, Arkansas, Memphis, Vandy, Ole Miss, Middle Tennessee and a couple of others. All of those are calling me at least once a week on the phone.”

Foster (6-7, 279, 4.9) is being targeted by most of the schools on his list as an offensive tackle. Ole Miss and Arkansas have both told him he could fall to either side of the line.
“I like O-Line better,” he said. “I feel like I could have a better future there, a better chance to go to the next level.”
Asked if he had any favorites at this point, Foster said: “Probably Tennessee or Louisville, but everybody’s pretty close right now. I’m getting ready to schedule some visits. Those will probably be the most important thing in my decision.
“But Tennessee looks good because it’s close to home and they’ve shown me a lot of personal attention. Coach Fulmer calls me personally. That really sticks with me that he takes the time to do that. I also love the fans and the whole atmosphere there.
“Louisville is up there high because my brother (freshman OT Renardo Foster) plays for them. I went up there to visit with him recently. I like it there a lot. I like their players. Coach Petrino and coach Brohm call me a lot. They say I could step in and really help them next year.”
Foster has also made unofficial visits to Tennessee for the South Carolina game and Memphis for the Ole Miss game.
“I’ve got my first official visit coming up in a couple of weeks (Oct. 31 for Michigan game weekend),” he said. “I think I’m also going to set up visits for Arkansas, Louisville, Ole Miss and Tennessee. It will probably be those five.”
Foster has helped lead Ripley to a 6-1 record and the No. 8 ranking in Class 3A. He’s graded out close to 88 percent on offense and recorded 40 tackles, two sacks and three quarterback hurries on defense.
Academically, he maintains a 3.0 GPA and is awaiting his latest test scores.
