Offers keep piling up for Davenport

One of the nation's top defensive players at any position is Mansfield, La.'s Chris Davenport. The 6-foot-3 320-pounder wears down offensive linemen at every opportunity. However the one person he may be wearing down the most is the mailman. The offers keep on coming in for Davenport who recently heard from several big schools.
"Florida, Florida State, Alabama, Texas Tech, Tennessee and Michigan have all offered recently," Davenport said. "They're all about the same right now. A few came through the mail a few came in through the coach."

Davenport has had a busy schedule with choir and varsity basketball taking up much of his time and he has not yet had an opportunity to attend any Junior Days.
"I haven't made it to any Junior Days," he said. "I'm going to try to make one at least. I don't know which one. Whichever school has the latest Junior Day I think I'll go to. I am going to visit a couple schools though to see Spring Practice."
While he hasn't set a timetable for any decision-making with his recruitment Davenport did comment on some of the top programs that have offered him recently.
Florida - "They've got a young defense so they're going through a rebuilding phase. They've got a good defense though."
Alabama - "I just like the coaches and their personalities and their defensive scheme and everything."
Florida State - "They had a good defense. They had a few good players that came out of there to go to the NFL."
Michigan - "I liked that offense with Michael Hart."
As one of the top players in the state of Louisiana, Davenport will be in Baton Rouge this Saturday to attend Rivals.com's Five-Star Academy.
