Offers keep coming for Kozan

Recruiting has really picked up for Alex Kozan as the Castle Rock (Colo.) Valor Christian offensive tackle keeps getting offers with the two latest coming from Arkansas and Kansas.
Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Kansas State have also offered the 6-foot-4, 280-pound prospect who remains open in his recruitment.

Kozan has already visited Kansas and his former Valor Christian teammate, quarterback Brock Berglund, signed in the Jayhawks' 2011 recruiting class. There is definite interest there because Kozan also likes the job coach Turner Gill is doing to turn around the program.
"I'd be interested in playing with (Berglund) again," Kozan said. "It's not going to be a huge factor but it's definitely intriguing. Turner Gill is a great coach. He's a really intelligent man and he's going to do good things there.
"We'll see how they do. I think they're going to be better. They struggled last year but they got a lot of young players in that program. I'd say give them a couple years and once Brock gets in there, they'll be pretty decent."
Kozan said his visit to Kansas' campus really made an impression, too.
"They have some of the nicest facilities in the country and a ridiculously nice locker room, training room and all that," Kozan said.
"It seems like in the past they haven't been focused on building their football program but they've made a big commitment to their football program which is cool."
Arkansas is clearly a big offer since the Razorbacks are an up-and-coming program and play in the SEC. Since coach Bobby Petrino and his staff seemingly don't spend a lot of time recruiting the state of Colorado, Kozan takes it as a compliment to get an offer from them.
"It's kind of cool because they normally don't recruit all the way out in Colorado," Kozan said. "It's definitely exciting. Coach (Chris) Klenakis has been recruiting me and I've been talking to him for two weeks and learning about Arkansas.
"To get an offer from a team that played in the Sugar Bowl is cool. I'm going to do research on them and not only are they a good football team but they told me about the Walton School of Business so that's another component I'm going to look at."
