Offers flying in for Sturdivant

Offensive tackle Trinton Sturdivant out of Wadesboro (N.C.) Anson has seen his offers continue to rise. The 6-foot-6, 285-pounder has picked up approximately six more offers in just the last couple weeks according to Anson head coach Jody Grooms.
"He is probably up to about 25 written offers," he said. "Most recently he got ones from Michigan, Notre Dame, Florida State, Ole Miss, Oklahoma State and Georgia Tech. I don't think he has any favorites at all right now. At one point I thought ht did shorten his list, but that wasn't the case and he's going to be hard pressed to cut it to 10 schools."

Certainly the offers look like they'll have the jump on Sturdivant especially considering he plans to graduate in December.
"This has been planned for a little while and it allows him to be more aggressive with his recruiting," he said. "He'll probably take his visits pretty early in the fall and I've heard him say he'd like to have a decision done by November. I know he's trying to get in as many visits as possible this spring and summer to schools. He has already visited Georgia, North Carolina State and Clemson and is planning to get to Georgia Tech and Florida sometime soon."
There is more to Sturdivant than just his size.
"He is not only huge, but is extremely intelligent on and off the field," he said. "He's got a 4.0 GPA and can move with that huge frame he has. On the field, he destroys linemen and linebackers and even gets into the secondary. Trinton is a late bloomer that has really come on in the past year and a half."
