Alief (Texas) Taylor tight end Martellus Bennett continues to add offers to his list of schools.
“I have recently added offers from Oklahoma State and Missouri,” the 6-foot-7, 237-pound Bennett said. “Those are the most recent two.”
Those two join Wisconsin, Texas A&M, UCLA, LSU and Arizona as schools with offers extended for his gridiron talents.
“I do have a few schools that are recruiting me for basketball,” he said. “Houston, Pepperdine, Colorado State, Rice and Stanford have offered me for basketball. They have indicated I could play both sports if that is what I wanted to do.”
Bennett would like to give both sports a go in college.
“I would like to give it a shot,” he said. “I also hope to get on the field early in my career in football. I want to show I can play at that level early on. I have been working in the weight room since football ended trying to get bigger and stronger.”
Bennett doesn’t list any school as a favorite at this time.
“I want to see what the schools have to offer me as a student and as a player. Then I can move forward and make a choice. Obviously schools that are winning are nice, but how many guys they have at my position is something I will look at.”
Bennett hauled in only seven passes for 137 yards during his junior campaign, but recorded over 80 pancake blocks as an extension of the Taylor offensive line during the running game.
