Offers continue to come

The offers just continue to come from all over the country for Illinois defensive tackle Lawrence Dampeer.
“USC, Illinois, Missouri, Michigan State with Michigan State and Miami being verbal (to his high school coach). And also Purdue and Northwestern (have verbally offered).”

“USC just offered me,” the 6-foot-5, 275 pound lineman from Decatur Mac Arthur High School said about any recent offers. “That is pretty good, as it is somebody out West that is talking to me now and UCLA has just started to send some mail. It is just letting me know that people from all over the country, not just the Midwest and the South, are starting to look at me.”
He is determined to lead his Decatur MacArthur High School (Illinois) team to a state championship and that will be his focus this summer. It is doubtful that he will attend any college camps.
“No, right now, I’m focusing on my team. After the month of May, the recruiting is over for me. In June I will be a football player, but right now I’m going through the recruiting process and everything.”
“Especially the ones that I’m talking to, Illinois, Miami, Tennessee, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue," he said about his favorites for right now. "The schools that are not paying too much attention to me are not my favorites.”
However, he made it clear that he has not shut the door on Big 12 Conference powers, Nebraska and Oklahoma.
"I’m still looking at Nebraska and Oklahoma".
