Offers are coming in for Elkton (Md.) Eastern Christian Academy 2014 safety Vashon Tucker. The 5-foot-11, 175-pounder has two offers to date and has other programs moving in.
"I've gotten offers from Rutgers and Hawaii," he said. "I got Rutgers I think two weeks ago and the same week I got Hawaii."
Tucker is thrilled with the scholarships.
"I think it's good," he said. "I was surprised that they came so early, I thought they weren't going to come until next year."
What does he know about either school?
"I know a little bit about Rutgers," he said. "I've been there a couple times and it's really nice. I like their facilities. I don't know much about Hawaii though."
Meanwhile, Tucker likes one other school.
"I like Miami," he said. "That's because one of my favorite players came out of there, Ed Reed. I also like Sean Taylor. I know a lot about Miami and they have been my favorite college team since I was younger. I like the history behind Miami."
To date, Tucker has taken visits to Rutgers, Miami and Maryland. Though he confirmed camps are likely coming this summer, he isn't sure where he'll be headed yet.
On the field, Tucker posted 67 tackles and four interceptions as a sophomore.
A star basketball talent as well, Tucker has received interest from the likes of Boston University and UMBC. However, he notes that he is not considering basketball in college at all.
