Offers come for LB Davis

Raleigh (N.C.) Broughton linebacker Drew Davis holds two offers. The 6-foot-3, 240-pounder pulled his second offer, a BCS scholarship late last week from the Big Ten.
"I've got a Western Michigan offer about a month and a half or two months ago and then Minnesota just offered last week on Thursday or Friday," he said. "I'm really excited, both are great schools and it's just a weight off my shoulders to be able to go somewhere."

Does Davis know anything about either school?
"They're all the same, both are pretty far away, but that doesn't deter me," he said. "I'm excited to learn a lot about both of those schools.
"I've been doing my research and I'm going to visit Minnesota sometime next week as soon as I get done with exams to check out the campus. I've looked up a lot of stuff about their program and did an online tour."
Not surprisingly, Davis is getting other schools interested too.
"Clemson, Wake Forest, NC State, East Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Virginia Tech have all come by to talk to me about going to camp and what position they want me to play," he said. "Most are looking at linebacker, but it's funny, North Carolina wants me maybe as a defensive end or maybe a fullback."
Though camp dates aren't set, Davis has an idea where he may go.
"I think I'm going to Wake Forest, Clemson and NC State," he said. "I haven't really made my mind up on several though."
In addition, Davis notes no favorites, but did discuss what he hopes to see on these summer trips.
"A lot of it has to do with the fact I don't know what I want my future major to be for life after football," he said. "Other than that, I just want to be comfortable with the coaches and players and fit in with the program."
