Offers begin to roll in for Mooney

A new name on the recruiting landscape is offensive lineman Michael Mooney of Malvern (Pa.) Prep, who is beginning to reel in the offers and is also planning a busy schedule this spring. Included in these visits are stops to a Big Ten and ACC program in the coming weeks.
"Recruiting is moving along pretty well," said Mooney, who is 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds. "I have offers from Villanova, Delaware, East Carolina and Purdue right now and I'm hearing from Boston College and Virginia right now as well."
Mooney has already taken two visits, and has a few more lined up.
"I visited Villanova and Delaware and I'm visiting Purdue and Boston College over these next few weeks," said Mooney. "I'm hoping to get down to East Carolina for the spring game too."
Aside from the visits, Mooney also has one event lined up and the possibility of a few summer camps.
"I'm going to the Nike Camp on May 1st up at Rutgers and I'm going to figure out my camp schedule closer to the summer to see who is showing the most interest at that time," said Mooney.
During the college visits he is taking, Mooney is keeping an open-mind.
"Academics is definitely important in my decision and I'm not too sure what else right now, so I'm planning on taking a lot of visits to different schools so I can figure that out," said Mooney.
Finally, Mooney gave his thoughts on his junior season, when he mostly played left tackle, but also saw a little time at defensive tackle.
"Individually the season went well, but as a team we lost some games that we could have won," said Mooney. "We still finished up at 7-4 though."
