Offers are rising for Okwara

Offers are beginning to pick up for 6-foot-4, 230-pound defensive end Romeo Okwara. The Charlotte (N.C.) Ardrey Kell prospect has piled up four offers in recent weeks and is starting to visit schools.
"A couple weeks ago I got Duke, Duke offered first and then Vanderbilt, South Florida and Wake Forest was last week," he said. "I'm pretty excited about the offers I've gotten."

Okwara's most recent visit was a trip to South Florida two weeks ago.
"I liked it," he said. "I liked the coaches and players. I went to their spring game and I liked the way they play and the way the defense is run. I talked to the defensive line coach who is a pretty good guy. Coach Holtz was pretty good too."
Okwara claims he may take a trip to Vanderbilt sometime soon as well.
Meanwhile, Minnesota and NC State are two other schools taking a look.
Does Okwara like anybody?
"I'm a big fan of Duke right now," he said. "I just had a good time there when I visited two or three weeks ago. I talked to the coaches and liked them a lot. I like the way they practice on defense and it's a great opportunity to go there with the academics they have."
Okwara added he is hoping one other team picks up their interest.
"It would be a great opportunity to hear from Notre Dame more," he said. "I've gotten something, but first of all one of my former teammates is there and it would be a great, great opportunity to play with them again. Outside of that, I just like the school and athletics and the football team."
