Offers are piling up for DE Marcus

Offers are mounting for Durham (N.C.) Hillside defensive end Jamal Marcus. The 6-foot-2, 219-pounder picked up three more offers in the past week and visited one of the schools over the weekend.
"I just got an offer from Minnesota," he said. "I got Auburn last week and North Carolina last week.

"I'm receiving a lot of attention from colleges lately. I've got about 10 or 11 offers, Georgia Tech, NC State, East Carolina, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Oregon and Duke too."
Marcus believes Clemson could be close to pulling the trigger as well.
Does the lineman like anybody?
"Not really, I'm wide open," he said. "I'm hoping the SEC will show a lot more interest, but my options are wide open now."
This past weekend, Marcus made his way over to Chapel Hill to check out the Tar Heels more.
"It was really good," he said. "I liked the school and they have good academics, they are really good.
"I knew a lot about them already, but they seemed up and coming. They had the problem with their players, but they are going to bounce back from that and in a few years be a powerhouse again."
Marcus believes more visits will be coming potentially through the Southeast over his spring break as he's eyeing Auburn, Clemson, Georgia and Georgia Tech.
The lineman helped Hillside to a 16-0 state championship season this past year while leading the defense to just nine-points per game.
"I did really well, I won a couple awards and was all-conference," he said. "I finished with 52 tackles I think and 14 sacks."
