Offers are mounting for 2011 wide receiver Charone Peake. The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder already claims nearly a dozen scholarships and has taken a couple visits this fall to date.
"I've got about 10 or 11 offers," he said. "I've got offers from Clemson, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, LSU, California, those are my biggest. I've also got North Carolina, South Carolina, NC State, Maryland and Kentucky."
Already Peake has visited Georgia and Florida.
"Those visits went really well," he said. "I got to talk to the coaches and I liked everything that went on with their offenses."
Two schools already stick out to the Palmetto State prospect.
"My top two are Clemson and Georgia," he said. "It's just those schools' coaches. I'm real close to both of their coaches. I like Coach Scott at Clemson and I've gotten to know Coach Ball at Georgia. I like the fact they are really truthful guys. It's not just about recruiting."
On the field, Peake is playing well this season.
"I've done well," he said. "I've seen an improvement. I'm catching a lot more passes because we're throwing it a lot more."
Peake posted 860 all-purpose yards last season along with eight touchdowns on his way to all-region honors.
