The 6-foot-3, 245-pound defensive end also holds offers from Baylor, Duke, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and Tulsa, and he admits a few college programs have caught his attention at this early point in the recruiting process.
"I do have some favorites like Ole Miss, Baylor, A&M, those schools like that who are showing the most love," Madubuike said. "But I'm just taking it slow because there's just so much to comprehend like football, school, homework, all these games coaches want me to go to, Rival guys calling. It's been a blessing to be able to do this. But I'm just taking it one day at a time because I could drive myself crazy."
He is certainly not ready to narrow his list, but there are a few things he likes about each of the three schools on his list of favorites.
"A&M because I visited there this summer," Madubuike said. "It was certainly amazing. I saw Kyler Murray, Speedy Noil, Kenny Hill and all these good guys and I was like this is amazing and I could be a part of something special. I like that.
"Ole Miss, I like Ole Miss because coach Allen has been showing me a lot of love and I really liked him. I met him up close and personally. So that's really nice.
"Baylor I like them."
He also likes what he has seen and heard from the TCU Horned Frogs.
"Also TCU they've been showing me some love," Madubuike said. "I really like TCU."
His summer unofficial visit to Texas A&M is the only visit he has taken so far, and he has plans to check out the Aggies again in the near future.
"I haven't talked to my parents yet, but I really want to go to the Arkansas/A&M game at Cowboys Stadium," Madubuike said. "That's the only game I know right now so that's the only one that might be on my calendar I just have to talk to my folks."
In addition to his offers he is also receiving significant interest from Texas and Arkansas.
The recruiting process has begun at a fast pace for the standout defender and he admits it has caught him a little bit by surprise.
"Yeah, it kind of has," Madubuike said. "I didn't know it was going to blow up like this. I'm just going to take one day at a time and get better and better and just be the best person I can be. And hopefully more offers come and I have more options and it works out for the best."
As a sophomore, Madubuike recorded 69 tackles (22 solo, 47 assists), 16 TFLs, five sacks, four forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery on his way to first team all-district honors. He is currently ranked No. 16 among the nation's 2016 strongside defensive ends and No. 35 in the Rivals.com Texas Initial Top 75 for 2016.
