Offer No. 3 comes for LB Barber

Offer No. 3 is in for Mocksville (N.C.) Davie linebacker Jared Barber. The 6-foot-2, 218-pounder pulled the scholarship on Friday from the Big East.
"I'm pretty excited," he said. "I got my third offer from West Virginia and Illinois is supposed to be offering this week."

What does Barber think about the Mountaineers?
"I love it to be honest," he said. "I've got a lot of family from West Virginia and Kentucky and they could watch me play. Coach Galloway is recruiting me and he gave my film to Coach Casteel who said to offer on Friday. They hadn't been showing a lot of interest until the last two weeks."
Lots of schools want Barber to come for camp, but he's not positive he's going to hit up many schools.
"To be honest, I'm pretty happy with the three offers I have and potential fourth one coming in," he said. "I could see myself playing at all of these schools and if I feel the need to go to a camp, I'll definitely hit it up. I might hit up South Carolina. They said they'd offer if I show them some one-on-ones. Also, North Carolina may be for a camp.
"I'm thinking about visits to schools that have offered though. I'm trying to set up a date to West Virginia. I believe it would be for June 11th. I'm trying to hit up Wake Forest, NC State and Illinois as well."
Summer could be big with numerous visits on tap, what does he hope to see on his trips?
"It's going to be huge and a big deciding factor," he said. "Mostly I just want to see the position coach and head coach more. I want to see who I'll be working with the next four to five years of my life. A big part as well is academics and being a student athlete. Then I want to see if it's a place I can call home."
