Offer No. 1 is in for raw NC wideout

Offer No. 1 is in for a talented wide receiver in Charlotte. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder pulled the offer not too long ago from one of the in-state schools and more offers are likely to come.
"Duke has offered," Charlotte (N.C.) Christian head coach Jason Estep said of 2011 wide receiver Matthias Farley. "Just about everybody in the area is on him and Wisconsin is pretty close to making a decision. I really think after Signing Day when teams focus on 2011 he'll get more offers.

"North Carolina, Wake Forest, NC State and East Carolina are on him."
Farley is actually new to football after joining the team a year ago.
"He's been quite a surprise for us," he said. "He never played football until last year. He always played soccer and then in April he came out for football for the first time. We worked with him and taught him the game and then he had a breakout season with over 900-yards receiving on 37 receptions and 12 touchdowns while earning all-conference and all-state honors. It was an unbelievable surprise for us."
Estep went further about Farley as a player.
"He's very raw and very athletic," he said. "He can flat out fly and is a kid that has extremely soft hands. He's starting to understand running routes and defenses. He's very coachable and likeable. He comes from a great family and he's a good one. He's also a very good student. I can't wait until next year when he has a year under his belt and an offseason to get stronger, he could be unbelievable."
