Offer No. 1 is in for Ravenel

Offer No. 1 came in on Thursday for Stafford (Va.) North Stafford wide receiver Brandon Ravenel. The 6-foot-0, 170-pounder landed his first offer from the ACC.
"I got Boston College on Thursday," he said. "I was in the middle of weight lifting and my coach got a call from Coach Washington. That's when they told me I got an offer.

"I was just really excited. I couldn't even put it into words. It was just a great feeling."
The offer comes just days after a visit to the school.
"Oh yeah, I talked to my recruiting coach, the wide receiver coach and the offensive coordinator," he said. "They didn't get too deep into why they offered, but they liked what they saw and were ready to offer.
"I had just been there the weekend before. The campus is really nice. It's really homey there and not too big and spread out. I met the quarterback who was really cool and everyone was really nice.
"Other than that, I know a little bit more about them as my cousin went there for basketball. He just transferred to Ohio State, but it was good. I got a lot of individual attention on the visit."
Ravenel confirmed plans to take a few visits soon.
"I'm going to Virginia Tech again for a camp on June 3rd," he said. "I'll probably go to Boston College's spring game too. I may go to others as well."
Though Ravenel is honored and intrigued by the offer from Boston College, he plans to hold off on a choice.
"I've got to wait," he said. "Don't get me wrong, I like the offer, but more will come and I'm just waiting to see what comes next."
