Offer No. 1 is in for DB Summers

Offer No. 1 came in for Statesville (N.C.) West Iredell safety Kamron Summers recently. The 5-foot-11, 195-pounder was surprised by the offer to say the least.
"I got it three weeks ago from Western Michigan," he said. "It's pretty exciting, it's my first one.

"They came by the school on a Monday and that was the first time I had heard from them. On Tuesday they offered. I'm going to try to make a visit there during the summer."
Other schools will get a look at Summers coming up with the camp circuit starting.
"I'm getting looks from Wake Forest, NC State, North Carolina, Clemson, Elon, Kentucky, Duke, East Carolina and Ball State," he said. "Most of them want me to come to camp.
"So far, I'm going to Wake Forest's camp on the 12th, NC State's on the 17th, I'm trying to make it to Elon on the 18th and Clemson on the 14th. That's all I know for right now."
Does Summers like anybody?
"I like NC State, North Carolina, Clemson and South Carolina, those are my top four," he said. "Most of my family likes North Carolina and they are Carolina fans. My uncle is a big Clemson fan and that's how I'm aware of them. I took a visit down to South Carolina my sophomore year and liked everything I saw. With NC State, I toured there a couple times and like the football program and the way they do things."
Summers posted 60 tackles, one sack, five interceptions, nine broken passes and two fumble recoveries as a junior. He added 200-yards receiving and four touchdowns on offense too.
