Offer No. 1 comes in for Ehrlich

Pearland (Texas) made a surprise run to the Class 5A-Division state championship, knocking off powerhouses Katy and Euless Trinity along the way. The Oilers finished with a Top 10 national ranking after their dream season.
One of the key players for Pearland was linebacker Kendall Ehrlich. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound junior was team's leading tackler and makes it his goal to fly to the ball on every single play. His effort was recently rewarded with a scholarship offer.

"I got my first offer last week," Ehrlich said. "Boise State offered me. I got out of class and my coach told me to give them a call and that's when they told me they were offering.
"They've been talking to me a lot. I've also been hearing from our defensive end (Samuel Ukwuachu) that's going there that they were going to offer me so I kind of had a feeling it was coming. It was a really good feeling when they did offer, though."
Ehrlich has been to once campus so far this spring and has plans for another unofficial visit soon.
"I went to (Texas) A&M's junior day and that's it so far," he said. "I'm going to go to Arkansas but that one isn't until March. Other than that I don't have anything planned right now.
"I've been to A&M about three times now. I had already seen a lot of it but I got to see all the facilities and stuff a little closer. I liked all that."
Ehrlich discussed the possibility of an offer with the Aggie coaches.
"They told me I could pick up an offer," he said. "They're not too sure yet because they're going to take the time and wait and see everything works out. They really want to evaluate everyone."
As for the school that has offered, Ukwuachu is doing everything he can to make sure his teammate joins him at Boise State.
"He talks them up a lot," Ehrlich said. "He tries to talk me into going there. I think I'm going to go up there in the springtime, maybe go to their spring game."
For the time being, though, Ehrlich says all schools are even in his mind.
"I'm pretty much open to everything," he said. "I like all the schools that are recruiting me. I'm just looking at everybody right now."
