Offer No. 1 has come for Hampton (Va.) Phoebus jumbo wide receiver Romond Deloatch. The 6-foot-4, 213-pounder landed the scholarship in the past two weeks and updated his recruitment.
"Marshall was the first offer, I got it in the past two weeks," he said. "It's my first offer, I'm happy and blessed for it. I'm ready for more to come."
Deloatch touched on the Herd more.
"I don't really know a lot about them," he said. "I was supposed to visit this past weekend, but I didn't go as a family issue came up. I'm going to be taking a trip there soon."
According to Deloatch a number of ACC schools are in pursuit. So, does he like anybody?
"I'm really big on Duke and Florida State, I'm just waiting on them," he said. "I know they said they want to see my SAT scores and I just took them this past weekend. Hopefully I did pretty well so more schools come at me.
"Those two are the ones that are high on my list honestly. Those are ones I know I'll be going to in June and July."
With an offer on the table and more interest picking up, Deloatch discussed in-depth what he wants in a college.
"It's about how the coaches and I bond together, my receiving coach and how he is, and how we get along with each other," he said. "A lot of them tell you want you want to hear, but I'm looking for the one that'll bring me in like a son."
