Offer lost in the mail, but now on track

This a story of better late than never. Three-star defensive end Marquez Herrod (6-3, 220, 4.65) from Escondido (Calif.) San Pascual has an offer that literally was lost in the mail and when Herrod learned that this had offered him this school became one of his favorites.
"I recently found out that Oregon State actually offered me before Arizona," Herrod said. "I never received the letter. It must have been lost in the mail."

"I called Oregon State to ask some questions and that's when they told me that they sent out an official offer a long time ago," Herrod said. "When I heard that I had an Oregon State offer it really pumped me up."
"I have been thinking a lot about Oregon State so getting an offer was welcomed news," Herrod said. "I'm trying to get a road trip together to take unofficial trips to both Oregon schools and Utah."
"I want to get my recruitment done and know where I'm going rather than waiting this thing out," Herrod said. "Plus I want to get focused and concentrate on my senior year."
"Oregon State and Utah look very good to me know," Herrod said. "I might want to get away for my college experience."
"Both Oregon State and Utah have four seasons," Herrod said. "I kind of want to experience change of seasons."
"Arizona is a lot like California, it's hot all year round," Herrod said. "I'm not totally set on leaving the state because I'm still talking heavily with UCLA."
Herrod is good all-around athlete who earned all-league honors for both football and track. Herrod runs the 400-meter and the 4x400 for San Pascual. The 400 is a man's race and you have to be mentally tough to compete in the 400.
Arizona, Arizona State, Washington State and Boise State with Oregon State and Utah have offered.
