Offer list grows for McCoy

If anyone thought that Oklahoma City (Okla.) Southeast defensive tackle Gerald McCoy was done with offers, that all changed within the last week.
The latest came from USC last Wednesday and Nebraska on Thursday. Miami, LSU, Kansas State, Notre Dame, Texas Tech, and Missouri are just a few of the other recent offers that have been added to the list. The 6-foot-4, 280-pound McCoy is not worried about narrowing things down just yet.

He's just enjoying all of this.
"I'm just happy to get any offers," McCoy said. "I don't want to underrate any schools because I'm happy to get noticed at all. You always remember when you weren't getting noticed and you appreciate every moment of this."
The USC and Miami offers definitely shocked McCoy and he seems to be open to everybody at this point in the recruiting process.
"That's a big name along with Miami," McCoy said. "They're a team like that who just won back-to-back National Championships and they want me to come to their school? Yeah it's exciting."
McCoy has talked to several coaches but he claims that he is building special relationships with two.
"Coach (Jackie) Shipp from Oklahoma and I are real close," McCoy said. "Also coach (John) Blake from Nebraska is a good recruiter. I haven't really talked to any others, but I've had a chance to sit down and talk with both for longer than others."
Visits and a decision look likely for late in the fall or even closer to Signing Day. He'll start narrowing things down when he feels ready.
"I just want to still keep my options open for a while, but if the offers keep coming I'll have to start narrowing it down," he said. "I don't know, I'd say probably after the season I'll narrow it down because then I won't have that long to decide."
