TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas three-star offensive guard Austin Bland attended Florida State's camp session in hopes of landing an offer. He wrapped up the two-day visit on Thursday afternoon.
"It was pretty good," Bland said of the camp myself. "I think I got myself more noticed. I think I did pretty good in one-on-ones."
Bland did not land an offer from Florida State offensive line coach Rick Trickett.
"He told me basically the same thing as all of the other coaches," Bland said. "He wants to see me play in-person. Unfortunately I didn't get to play this spring. Hopefully he will see me throughout the season and then offer me from there."
The 6-foot-3, 275-pound offensive lineman now hits the road to check out Arkansas.
"I head to Arkansas this weekend and if they offer me, then I am going to commit while I am there," Bland said.
The South Florida offensive lineman shared why he is so high on the Razorbacks.
"I talk to the offensive line coach every Tuesday night and he has got me hooked," Bland said. "Everything he says. The weight room is 110 yards long, the stadium is packed with 90,000 fans, and they just got a new head coach."
Beyond his hopes of landing an offer, Bland is also looking forward to the camp visit during his time in Fayetteville.
"I am just looking forward to learning some technique from Coach K (Chris Klenakis)," Bland said. "I am looking forward to getting to know the coach I could be coached by in the future better.
"I can't wait to get up there," Bland added.
The Seminoles and Razorbacks are currently Bland's top two. He is hoping for an offer from one of them in order to end the process in the near future.
"I am just trying to commit before the season," Bland said.
Bland currently claims offers from Cincinnati, Georgia State, Navy, and Purdue. He isn't sure where he will go with his recruiting if he doesn't land an offer from one of his favorites in the near future.
