Offer brings more interest for 2018 ATH Ellis

Arlington (Va.) Bishop O'Connell athlete DeJuan Ellis is a local youth league legend making adjustment to high school football. He already has an offer from Maryland as an athlete but he will be playing quarterback this season. Purdue, Virginia Tech, N.C. State and Penn State have shown interest in Ellis.

WHAT'S NEXT?: The next school to offer Ellis will likely see him as an athlete just like Maryland does, especially if he makes a lot of plays with his feet. The offers could come in bunches if he really develops as a quarterback.
IN HIS WORDS: "Things are pretty good with Maryland. I have to go up there for a visit one day. I've been pretty busy with practice and two-a-days but I'll find time to do it. It was surprising (when I got the offer). I wasn't expecting it. It's a blessing and I really like Maryland," Ellis told Rivals.com.
RIVALS' REACTION: Ellis has the athleticism to be a big time defensive back. He is trying to make it as a quarterback and he has gotten better in some areas. If Ellis keeps getting better as a passer he could have some success as a dual-threat quarterback in college.
