That's because Euless (Texas) Trinity offensive lineman Ofa Mohetau is down to three teams - Miami, BYU and Arizona State.
"I have eliminated Texas," Mohetau, a five-star offensive guard, said. "It's just down to three teams. That's who I'm going to pick between."
The Mohetau news tops what has already been a down day for Texas fans. The Horns lost two commitments today when punter Geoff Price switched to Notre Dame and athlete Jimmie Sutton flipped to N.C. State.
Mohetau said he has a good feel for the coaching staffs and most importantly the living situations at his final three schools.
"I want to be at a place where I can feel comfortable in my surroundings," Mohetau said. "I need to be able to relate and talk about the things that interest me. I get that at those places."
Mohetau said he informed Texas today that he was no longer considering the Horns. Mohetau also said he's leaning quietly to a school but isn't ready to go public with that lucky school.
"I sort of know," he said. "I'll need some time to think about it and talk to my family and see what they think."
Mohetau said he does not have a time table for a final decision.
